What is a UX design trainee?

UX Design Trainees are individuals who are learning the fundamentals of user experience (UX) design, often through internships, apprenticeships, or entry-level positions. They assist with tasks such as user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing under the guidance of experienced designers. The goal is to gain hands-on experience and develop the skills necessary to become a professional UX Designer. Trainees typically work closely with teams to understand user needs and help create intuitive and effective digital products.

What do UX design trainees do?

As a UX Design Trainee, you’ll typically work on a variety of projects ranging from user research and persona creation to wireframing and prototyping interfaces under the supervision of senior designers. Trainees often assist with usability testing, gather and analyze user feedback, and help iterate on design solutions. You’ll likely collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other designers, gaining practical experience in the end-to-end UX process. This hands-on exposure is designed to help you build a strong foundation in both the technical and collaborative aspects of UX design.
