Job description

Utility Worker

Transdev in Santa Rosa, CA is hiring a Utility Worker. The Utility Worker is required to perform basic vehicle servicing duties. We are looking for customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:

  • Starting pay $26.92 with progression to $33.00 over 5 years.

Benefits include:

  • Paid time off accrual (includes 5 days paid sick leave)
  • Automatic wage increases two times a year
  • Teamsters benefits including: Medical, dental & vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, pension and 7 paid holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of fleet vehicles - interior and exterior
  • Driving, maneuvering, and parking vehicles
  • Fueling buses, replenishing fluids, and logging and recording all fluids
  • Downloading drive cameras & probes fare boxes
  • Perform light maintenance to shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities.
  • Report maintenance issues to supervisor
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Ability to obtain CDL Class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
