Meade Tractor of Christiansburg is now accepting applications for a Utility Person

Purpose:

Participates in on-the-job training and performs basic repairs of agricultural and turf equipment under the direction of General Manager. Also assists in unloading/loading of equipment on the yard and local.

Responsibilities:

  1. Performs basic service tasks as assigned to include set up of equipment.
  2. Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
  3. Pick up and deliver customer equipment (Non CDL)
  4. Assists senior technicians as needed
  5. Maintains the condition of service vehicles, trailers, tools and equipment
  6. Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
  7. Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  8. Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments
  9. Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties
  10. May perform pre-delivery set-up and inspection on new equipment

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

  1. Good knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair of outdoor power equipment/agricultural equipment
  2. Fundamental knowledge of engines, hydraulics, power-trans, air-conditioning, and electrical systems as they apply to machines marketed by the Dealership
  3. Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
  4. Good skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  5. Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
  6. High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
  7. Valid driverโ€™s license and good driving record required
  8. Fork lift license preferred
