Job description

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:

Possess a valid Drivers license State of New Mexico
New Mexico Class A Commercial Drivers License
High School Diploma or General Education degree (GED).
1 to 2 years experience working In the Water utility field
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, farm machinery, pumps and equipment used in and around water and wastewater systems.
Basic Knowledge in Operations and Maintenance of Water Distribution Systems
Competent in the Operations of Heavy Equipment
Digital Literacy (e.g. Maintenance Connection, IonCity, Phone etc.)
New Mexico Watery Supply Level 1 or New Mexico Water Distribution System 1 or obtain within 2 years
Responsibilities:
Install, Operate, locate, Maintain, and repair water distribution infrastructure including water mains, service lines, hydrants, valves, PRVs and meters; establishes and maintains effective sample procedures, records for water lines; Diagnose system operating problems, Performs necessary corrective and remedial activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs routine servicing and corrective maintenance of water and wastewater systems.
Locates and marks underground water, wastewater and reclaimed water services by utilizing provided Maps and tools
Cleans vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, tools and other stationery and potable equipment.
Performs routine inspection of vehicles and equipment.
Operates and maintains vehicles, equipment and tools required to load, unload, haul, and spread sand, gravel, dirt and/or waste products, digs, refills ditches and trenches.
Maintains grounds and buildings; cuts grass, weeds and brushes; trims trees and bushes; rakes grass; leaves and trash, seeds and cares for lawn and ornamental plantings.
Understands and carries out oral and written directions.
Works safely and adheres to establish safety procedures
Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during work.
Ability to carry and respond to pages as requested by management.
Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner.
Knowledge of Hooking up and towing equipment
Familiarity with hand and power tools and equipment commonly used in the maintenance of vehicles, equipment, structure and buildings.
Follow all project SOPs, policies and procedures relating to inventory control management of checking out and returning inventory.
Operates a Dump Truck, Hydro Excavator, Ditch Witch Etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
