SUMMARY
Responsible for overall care of the grounds and maintenance of the gardens and golf course on all entities and properties at Grand Casino. (Golf Course duties only for Hinckley Property).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
  • Responsible for the preparation, planting, and maintenance of all plant beds within the complex and outlying properties.
  • Utilizes maintenance techniques, including the ability to identify and treat plants for pests and diseases.
  • Required to operate a company vehicles and maintenance equipment.
  • Remove trash and debris on grounds complex on a daily basis.
  • Hand shoveling as snow conditions demand.
  • Ensures use of all cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Maintains strict adherence of all OSHA safety rules and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Operates mowers for mowing on golf turf and casino lawns, which includes operating equipment up to 80 horsepower containing up to seven deck or reel cutting units.
  • Maintains consistent complex mowing practices.
  • Operates irrigation systems, fertilizer spreaders, ground aerators, debris blowers, string trimmers, utility carts, and loaders.
  • Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis. Ensures that the equipment cooling systems is working at all times, reports equipment problems or failures to Management immediately.
  • Returns all equipment to the designated location. • Sets golf tee markers daily; maintains ball washers; replaces tee towels and flags as needed; sand and seed tee and drop area divots; hand waters and fertilizes tees, greens, and fairways as directed.
  • As directed, mark the course for cart control weekly, moves cart control barriers and replaces worn or lost ropes and signs, marks hazard and drop areas.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Valid MN Driver's License and able to be insured under company policy.
  • Experience in equipment operation preferred.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools.
