Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Utility Operator to join a team that provides material for monuments, universities, and landmarks seen around the world. The Utility Operator plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our operations. This position involves monitoring and operating various utility systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and performing routine maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a role that keeps you moving, lifting, and working with your hands!
SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and perform necessary maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to utility outages or malfunctions, troubleshooting problems to restore service quickly.
  • Maintain accurate records of utility operations, including usage data, maintenance activities, and safety inspections.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Assist in training new staff on utility operations and safety procedures.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and contribute to the development of emergency preparedness plans.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in utilities management is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a utility operator role or similar position is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of utility systems and equipment operation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.

Position Details:
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Union Position - SE Laborers Local 515
  • Starting Pay: $20.96 per hour
  • Shift: 10-hour shifts, 4x10 schedule (6:00am - 4:00pm)
  • Overtime: as needed, 8~10hr shifts, Fridays or Saturdays as needed
