Join Growth Solutions (a subsidiary of Rainbow Companies) as a Utility Vegetation Management Technician, where youโ€™ll apply a Tree Growth Regulator (TGR); a treatment injected into the soil to slow the growth of trees near powerlines. Our innovative approach reduces pruning needs, improves tree health, and transforms how utilities manage vegetation.

** This role requires travel, working independently outdoors, in all weather conditions across diverse terrains. You will bend, reach, stoop and lift (up to) 50 lbs, have exposure to chemicals, tools and equipment (PPE and training provided). What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • โ€ฏApplying a TGR soil treatments, which includes safely mixing and handling products in compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Keep accurate digital records to support research and compliance.
  • Professionally communicate with homeowners, representing Growth Solutions and utility partners.
  • Navigate utility rights-of-way locating and identify trees for treatment.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Must reside in or around Salt Lake City, UT.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and commitment to safe driving.
  • Obtain pesticide applicatorโ€™s license upon starting (we will pay for test)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in forestry, tree care, landscaping, or utility work.
  • Leadership experience in work, school, or volunteer roles.
  • Tree identification knowledge.
  • Comfortability with using basic hand tools and doing general maintenance on equipment.

Schedule & Travel:

  • Full-time position with overtime paid at 1.5x.
  • Typical workweek is 50 hours Monday through Friday
  • Up to 75% travel which would include up to four weeks on the road with one week off, and shorter trips when work availability is closer to your home
