Job description

Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Pipelayer to work on underground utility projects located in Saskatchewan. We offer competitive wages, matching RRSP program, health & dental benefits, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, and safety training.


Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Installation of water, storm and sanitary pipe
  • Follow the established grade for water, storm and sanitary pipe
  • Work closely with mainline operator and top man to ensure efficient flow and production
  • Provide a high degree of clear communication with operators, top man and workers in the ditch to maintain safe operations and quality installation
  • Continuous assessment of risk and implementation of required controls / mitigations
  • Complete site documentation as required
  • Participate in inspections and incidents - address deficiencies / issues through corrective actions
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity


Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of pipelayer experience is required
  • Underground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is an asset
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • High attention to detail and management of quality specifications
  • Safety conscious
  • Strong understanding of pipe installation process and flow logistics
  • Competent in the use of various rigging techniques and mechanisms
  • Able to work independently and follow instruction from the foreman
  • Able to support other positions as needed
  • Strong communication skills – provide instructions clearly with sufficient detail
  • Ability to mentor workers for advancement
  • Physically capable of performing heavy manual labour
  • Consistent, reliable and always show up for work fit for duty


Required Certifications:

  • CSTS 2020
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2
  • Confined Space 
  • Fall Protection is an asset
