Location: Remote
Travel: Possible travel up to once per month, though travel is unlikely

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Process Analyst to support a utility client's Site Selection Initiative related to data centers and power generation. This role will help document, analyze, and improve business processes that support site selection, project planning, stakeholder coordination, and operational decision-making.

The Process Analyst will work closely with the Process Lead, project stakeholders, and business teams to gather process information, document current-state workflows, support future-state process design, analyze performance data, and create materials that help teams adopt new ways of working. This role is well suited for someone who is highly organized, analytical, and skilled at turning complex information into clear process maps, documentation, and actionable insights.

The ideal candidate brings experience in business process analysis, workflow documentation, process improvement support, data analysis, and stakeholder coordination. Experience in utilities, energy, infrastructure, site selection, data centers, or power generation is preferred.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Mapping & Documentation
  • Document current-state processes, workflows, handoffs, decision points, roles, and pain points.

  • Support development of future-state process maps, standard operating procedures, job aids, and process documentation.

  • Create clear, structured materials that help stakeholders understand process steps, ownership, dependencies, and expected outcomes.

  • Maintain process inventories, action trackers, issue logs, and documentation repositories.

Process Analysis & Improvement Support
  • Analyze existing workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, duplication, and process gaps.

  • Support the Process Lead in developing recommendations for improved workflows and operating practices.

  • Gather and synthesize stakeholder input to support process design and decision-making.

  • Help evaluate the impact of proposed process changes on teams, systems, timelines, and business outcomes.

Metrics, Reporting & Performance Tracking
  • Collect, organize, and analyze process performance data, metrics, and status updates.

  • Support development of KPIs, dashboards, and reporting materials to monitor process effectiveness.

  • Track progress against process improvement actions, adoption activities, risks, and open issues.

  • Prepare summaries, presentations, and analysis to support stakeholder discussions and leadership updates.

Implementation & Change Support
  • Assist with rollout of new processes, procedures, templates, tools, and best practices.

  • Support training and enablement activities by developing materials, guides, and documentation.

  • Help stakeholders understand new process expectations and provide follow-up support as needed.

  • Coordinate with business teams to ensure documentation is accurate, accessible, and kept current.

Stakeholder Coordination
  • Participate in interviews, workshops, and working sessions with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Capture meeting notes, decisions, action items, risks, and dependencies.

  • Follow up with stakeholders to gather missing information, validate process details, and maintain project momentum.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with business, project, and functional teams.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Document workflows, process maps, SOPs, and supporting materials.

  • Gather information from stakeholders through interviews and working sessions.

  • Analyze process data, identify issues, and summarize findings.

  • Maintain trackers for actions, risks, decisions, and process improvement activities.

  • Support creation of PowerPoint decks, reports, and stakeholder updates.

  • Assist with training materials, job aids, and process rollout support.

  • Partner with the Process Lead to keep work organized and moving forward.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in process analysis, business analysis, operations analysis, process improvement, or related roles.

  • Experience documenting current-state and future-state business processes.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify gaps, trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.

  • Experience creating process maps, SOPs, workflow documentation, reports, and presentation materials.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in utilities, electric energy, power generation, infrastructure, data centers, or capital project environments.

  • Experience supporting site selection, project development, permitting, interconnection, asset planning, or infrastructure-related initiatives.

  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or operational excellence methodologies.

  • Experience using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, Smartsheet, Jira, SharePoint, or similar process and collaboration platforms.

  • Experience supporting change management, training, or adoption activities.
