Job description

Description:

The URD Lineman / Apprentice plays a key role in supporting underground electrical distribution (URD) construction and installation projects. This position is responsible for assisting with the installation of primary and secondary underground conduit systems, setting pad mount transformers and pedestals, installing and pulling URD cable, and supporting terminations, grounding, and related infrastructure work. The role requires the ability to read and follow utility prints and staking sheets while maintaining strict adherence to safety procedures when working around energized utility systems.

URD Lineman / Apprentice Responsibilities

  • Install primary and secondary underground electrical conduit systems
  • Set pad mount transformers, pedestals, and switch cabinets
  • Install and pull URD cable
  • Assist with terminations, elbows, and grounding
  • Read and follow utility prints and staking sheets
  • Maintain safe work practices around energized utility infrastructure
  • Work efficiently with crew members and equipment operators

Equipment Operator Responsibilities

Operators needed for:

  • Mini Excavator
  • Skid Steer
  • Trencher

Operators must be capable of precision trenching for underground utilities and safely working around existing infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:

  • Trenching for primary and secondary conduit
  • Excavation for transformer pads and pedestals
  • Operating equipment safely around existing utilities
  • Assisting crew members when needed
  • Performing daily equipment inspections
Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in URD or underground utility construction
  • Valid CDL required
  • Must pass background check
  • Must have acceptable DOT driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working on OG&E underground distribution systems
  • Experience installing URD primary and secondary conduit
  • Experience setting pad mount transformers
  • Experience installing URD cable and elbows
  • Ability to read utility prints and staking sheets
  • Experience operating mini excavator, skid steer, or trencher
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • First Aid / CPR
