Accountant / Staff Accountant / Senior Accountant / Accounting Specialist

THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION REQUIRING ON-SITE Allentown, PA

PPL is seeking talented accounting professionals for current and future opportunities within our accounting organization. Positions may be filled at the Accountant, Staff Accountant, or Senior Accountant level depending on qualifications and experience.

Successful candidates will support a variety of accounting functions including financial reporting, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, internal controls, accounting analysis, and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities and scope of work will vary based on experience and assigned level.


Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze accounting transactions, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare financial statements and internal/external financial reports.
  • Support, monitor, and enhance internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Perform accounting analyses and assist with resolving accounting-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain supporting workpapers and documentation.
  • Research accounting guidance and recommend solutions to business challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
  • Collaborate with business partners, leadership, and internal customers.
  • Apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills to support business objectives.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of accounting principles, company processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance, training, or support to less experienced team members, as appropriate based on level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MBA, or other advanced business degree.
  • CPA or CMA certification.
  • Experience in utility accounting, public accounting, SEC reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
