Job description

Heavy Civil Superintendent

Location: Santa Rosa / Sonoma County, CA

Pay: $50.00+ per hour DOE (Prevailing Wage Projects)

Specialties: Heavy Civil | Public Works | Underground Utilities | Structural Retaining Walls | Slope Stabilization

Job Responsibilities:

Are you ready to take charge of game-changing infrastructure builds right in Northern California's vibrant North Bay region? We're a rapidly expanding general engineering firm shaping the area's tomorrow—digging trenches, erecting sturdy walls, and locking down slopes that last.

As we grow, we're hunting for a battle-tested field leader to take full ownership of several public works contracts, rally crews to top-tier output, and consistently hit deadlines and budgets. If you live for on-site action, excel at cracking tough challenges in the field, and can orchestrate job sites with precision, this is your chance to level up and advance with a dynamic team.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Command 1–3 live projects simultaneously — complete hands-on field oversight
  • Direct and motivate operators, laborers, and trade partners to deliver excellence
  • Navigate and schedule inspections with key stakeholders (cities, counties, PG&E, Caltrans, and beyond)
  • Own project timelines, monitor daily progress, and stay laser-focused on cost control
  • Lead with safety first — conduct effective tailgate sessions and ensure zero incidents
  • Master blueprints and specifications, execute flawlessly, and meet or beat quality and productivity benchmarks

Qualifications We're Seeking

  • At least 5 years of Superintendent experience leading construction jobs (heavy civil or underground experience strongly preferred)
  • Thorough expertise in underground utility installations (water, sewer, storm drains, PG&E joint trenches) and public works requirements
  • Strong ability to decipher and implement civil plans and technical drawings
  • Proven success managing prevailing wage records and requirements
  • Sharp organization, fast decision-making, and a relentless problem-solving approach
  • Commanding leadership style — you inspire performance and enforce accountability effectively
  • OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain it quickly)

Standout Extras

  • Background in shoring systems, soldier pile retaining walls, or drilling work
  • Solid familiarity with permitting and standards in Sonoma, Marin, or Napa counties

Our Package

  • Attractive hourly wage plus bonuses tied directly to your performance wins
  • Dedicated company vehicle + fuel card for seamless mobility
  • Genuine fast-track growth in a high-momentum company
  • Straight path to executive-level roles as our portfolio expands
