About The Position
The Project Manager manages large engineering & construction projects for Ameren Illinois. The Project Manager is responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of project plans for assigned projects and is responsible for the successful completion and operational integration of large-scale, multi-million dollar projects.
Reporting location is dependent on Successful Candidate (must be within the Ameren Illinois Operating Area and is dependent upon site availability)
Key responsibilities include:
  • Directly manage assigned CPOC, SLPOC, and mid-tier projects following Ameren and AIC Project Management and other applicable corporate and function procedures and policies.
  • Responsible and accountable for overall project performance.
  • Identify and direct project team and integrate all assigned resources. Ensure project team members understand their respective responsibilities and lead team to completion of assigned tasks.
  • Lead the project delivery process including initiation, authorization, planning, design, engineering, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and close out.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support in the area of scope definition, cost management, schedule development, change management, meeting design basis criteria, risk identification and risk management.
  • Develop effective working relationships among all project team members, stakeholders, and the project resources including managing external vendors, consultants, and contractors as appropriate.
  • Responsible for project updates and metrics tracking, associated reporting to stakeholders, and compliance with corporate and function procedures.
  • Provide project updates to the Capital Project Oversight Committee (CPOC), Senior Leadership Project Oversight Committee (SLPOC), AIC Mid-Tier Project Oversight Board, and other project stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Ensure outage coordination of all electric and natural gas facilities that are affected by the assigned projects.
  • Ensure budget forecasting accuracy.
  • Provide safety leadership and guidance.

Qualifications
Project Manager 1:
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in an Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management discipline. Must actively pursue Project Management Professional (PMP) certification upon reaching minimum PMP requirements. One or more years of relevant project management experience preferred. Relevant experience includes managing projects and/or project engineering, construction management, or project controls experience on utility or construction projects. Experience or understanding in project management controls are preferred. Project coordination or team leadership experience preferred. Entry level applicants with significant leadership and proven ability to communicate and drive results within teams will be considered in lieu of relevant utility and project management experience.
Project Manager 2:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited University required. Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management discipline preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred or must actively pursue PMP certification upon hire (certification must be pursued within 12 months of employment in this position). Three years relevant project management experience required. Relevant experience includes project management, and/or project lead engineering experience on large and medium complex projects. Experience in project management controls area preferred. Project coordination or team leadership experience preferred.
Project Manager 3:
Bachelor's Degree required, degree in an Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management discipline preferred. Five years relevant project management experience required. Relevant experience includes large-scale project management, and/or project lead engineering experience on large/complex projects. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred (required within 12 months of employment in this position). Experience on utility projects preferred. Team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Project Manager 4:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited University required. Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management discipline preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred or must actively pursue PMP certification upon hire. Seven or more years of relevant experience in project management including scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, or project accounting including cost management systems to support project budget, forecast, and spend required. Project coordination or team leadership experience required.
Compensation Range:
$72,000.00 - $204,400.00
* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
