Job description

Senior Corporate Counsel supports the company's legal operations in a variety of matters, with a focus that includes general corporate matters, corporate governance, regulatory and compliance matters, insurance, vendor contract negotiations, internal corporate policies and procedures, along with drafting and negotiating other transactional matters including managing books and record keeping.
Responsibilities, other duties as assigned:

  • Overseeing general corporate legal matters
  • Negotiating and drafting customer and vendor contracts as well as various other transactional matters
  • Assisting with legal and regulatory compliance
  • Assisting with corporate governance matters as well as managing books and records
  • Assisting with compliance with various domestic and international privacy laws
  • Assisting with the company's data security program
  • Assisting with management of the Company's insurance program and operations
  • Assisting with a variety of other legal functions such as loans, joint ventures, acquisitions, construction, real estate, intellectual property protection, tax abatements, litigation, etc.
  • Managing collections on customer accounts
  • Performing a broad range of legal matters and general business matters based on the needs of the company, as assigned.
  • Working with and managing outside counsel, counterparties, insurers, and other third parties as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials
  • Admission to the Bar of a U.S. state or the District of Columbia
  • Five or more years of legal experience as a practicing lawyer working in a general corporate transactional practice

The estimated pay range for this role, if based in Virginia, is:

$149,556.65 - 228,711.99
