Job description

Department: Med Surg RN 4th Floor *Certifications Required: BLS* **Local Rate: Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility. Client rates reduced by #/hour.** - # Beds: 30. - Nurse: Patient Ratios: 4-6pts on Days, 5-6 nights occasionally up to 7 at night. - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Post Op knee, hip, shoulder, thyroidectomy, appendectomy, chole etc. Medical patients such as HTN, HF, Pneumonia, COPD, AMS, TIA, DM, Sepsis, UTI, AKI. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: At least 1 year of MS. The more experience the better with first time travelers. Safe and dependable nurses. - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Rare. - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, PCAs. - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes, Charge RN takes assignment- sometimes full and sometimes a modified. - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: 1:10. - RT Equipment: Cpap at night- home settings, Bipap (Rare). - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Central monitor- but RN does not have to read and interpret tele. Tele techs on site not on unit. Tele boxes for M/S unit and they can call tech for a rhythm. Central monitor- but RN does not have to read and interpret tele. - Shifts & Scheduling: Managers are flexible & accommodating as much as possible- take requests but managers to make the schedule. 7-1930 or 1900-0730, and have to punch out for 30 minutes. - Weekend Requirements: Sometimes every 3rd, or every other, sometimes none. (full weekend teams). - Holiday Requirements: 2/3 for winter holidays, and every other otherwise. - Is there call or a standby requirement?: No. - Floating Requirements: Yes, to like units, can float as an CNA to IMC, ICU, or ED. - Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy Blue scrubs. - Unit/Department specific orientation: 3 days for agency, 1st day CBT's- to shadow if finish early, get into equipment. *MUST note in submission if clinician has ever worked for Marshfield. If clinician previously worked with Marshfield, they must have an end date 6 months prior to their submission date.* All clinicians must clock in and out at facility Date Entered On: 11/6/2025
