Position Summary


UTI is seeking an experienced Surveyor (Professional Survey- Ohio) with 5+ years of experience to support our expanding pipeline and civil design operations. This role will focus on planning, performing, and overseeing survey work to support engineering, design, and construction projects across natural gas infrastructure.


The ideal candidate is comfortable working both in the field and office, has strong technical expertise with modern surveying equipment and software, and enjoys collaborating with engineers, designers, and project teams to deliver high-quality, accurate data.


What You Will Do


* Lead and perform field survey operations for pipeline, facility, and civil projects


* Translate real-world field data into accurate deliverables used in design and construction


* Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to support project execution


* Ensure survey accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations


* Utilize modern survey technology and software to streamline data collection and processing


Key Responsibilities


* Perform boundary, topographic, route, and construction staking surveys


* Operate and manage Trimble GPS/RTK equipment, total stations, and data collectors


* Process and analyze survey data using Trimble software and AutoCAD Civil 3D


* Prepare survey drawings, plats, and legal descriptions


* Provide quality control and verification of survey data and deliverables


* Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field crews to support project needs


* Review and interpret plans, specifications, and property records


* Ensure compliance with Ohio surveying standards and regulatory requirements


* Support permitting and right-of-way documentation as needed


* Mentor junior survey staff and field personnel, as applicable


* Conduct occasional site visits to support project needs across Ohio and surrounding states


Required Qualifications


* Professional Surveyor (PS) license in the State of Ohio

* 5+ years of surveying experience, preferably supporting civil or utility projects

* Proficiency with Trimble equipment and software (GPS/RTK, data collectors)

* Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D for survey processing and drafting

* Strong understanding of survey principles, boundary law, and field procedures

* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality

* Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed


Preferred Qualifications


* Professional Surveyor (PS) license in one or more states surrounding Ohio

* Experience supporting natural gas, utility, or pipeline infrastructure projects

* Familiarity with right-of-way surveys and easement documentation

* Experience mentoring or leading small field crews

* Knowledge of permitting processes and coordination with regulatory agencies
