American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Lakin, Kansas.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and a KS or compact RN license.

Details
  • Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required to Med/Surg and ER when no L&D patients are present, either as a helper or with assigned patients
  • When floating, primarily assigned Skilled Swing Bed patients or stable Observation/Acute patients requiring basic nursing care such as vitals, assessments, IV management, and transfers
  • When floating to ER, assigned low acuity patients (ear infections, minor cough, UTI, IV fluids, minor lacerations) and may assist as a helping hand during trauma or critical cases
  • 5-bed ER including two trauma bays, two treatment rooms, and one triage/outpatient room
  • Central nurses station shared by OB, ER, and Med/Surg departments
  • Each shift staffed with four nurses: two with OB/ER/Med-Surg skill sets and two with ER/Med-Surg skill sets, one designated as charge nurse
Requirements
  • Active KS or compact RN license required at time of submission
  • Current BLS, FHM, and NRP certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Orientation includes education for Med/Surg and ER areas
  • Charge nurse responsibilities include assisting staff and making patient assignments
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Block scheduling is available
  • All RTO must be submitted at time of consideration, with only one holiday RTO request allowed
