Overview

Faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT Health East Texas facilities. 

UT Health Pittsburg is growing and hiring BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Hospitalist to join team.

This position would be (2) week a month of hospitalist coverage in our UT Health Pittsburg hospital. 

About this Position:

    • This position is 7 days on and 7 days off.
    • 7am - 7pm 
    • No procedures needed 
    • NO ICU
    • Average daily census 10-15 average 2-3 admits /day 
    • Night cross coverage by remote APP
    • ER runs Codes
    • Opportunity to pick up extra shifts if desired at our regional facilities 
    • Teaching responsibilities will include Rural Family Medicine Residents.
    • Smart Technology: See more patients without extending your day. Our providers use Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to automate documentation, reduce administrative burden, improve patient flow, and ensure accurate coding-leading to better work-life balance and revenue.

Position Requirements:

  • BE/BC in Internal Medicine (ABIM) or Family Medicine (ABFM)
  • Must also possess an unrestricted Texas Medical License or be eligible to be licensed in the state of Texas
  • No Visa support available at this location

About UT Tyler School of Medicine:

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its mission is to train future healthcare professionals to embrace responsibility for the unique needs of rural and hard-to-reach communities and populations, particularly those in East Texas. 

The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, enabling graduates to gain specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia.
