Job description

Under direct supervision, responsible for providing routine to moderately complex technical lab support for a research facility.
  • Hands-on lab experience and animal handling experience.
  • Ability to operate laboratory equipment.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience is required.  

This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

  • Collects, analyzes, and processes laboratory samples.
  • Performs a variety of tests, using both routine and special techniques and methods; collects, evaluates and interprets data.
  • Assists in report writing, maintains records of expenditures and tracks chemical and supply inventory.
  • Sets up equipment and materials for course instruction.
  • Performs routine library work, including finding literature and copying articles.
  • Prepares stock solutions, chemical reagents, and commonly used samples.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
