Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Level II Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician to perform inspections within a structural steel fabrication environment. This position is responsible for verifying in-process fabrication dimensions and conducting nondestructive testing to ensure products meet shop drawings, contract requirements, applicable codes, and quality standards.

Compensation will be based on the candidate’s certifications, experience, and ability to perform inspections accurately and efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Verify fabricated products conform to shop drawings and contract requirements
• Perform dimensional inspections using tape measures and other measuring tools
• Conduct visual inspections of welds and fabricated components
• Perform Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Radiographic Testing (RT) as applicable
• Set up, operate, and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment
• Conduct inspections to identify defects, discontinuities, and quality concerns
• Select appropriate testing techniques based on the component and applicable requirements
• Interpret codes, specifications, drawings, and inspection criteria
• Evaluate and document inspection results in accordance with applicable standards
• Maintain accurate inspection records and reports
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality-control requirements
• Communicate inspection findings clearly to production and quality personnel

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Level II certification in at least two of the following methods: MT, UT, or RT
• Previous nondestructive testing experience in a fabrication, welding, or industrial environment
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, codes, and technical specifications
• Knowledge of weld inspection practices and common fabrication defects
• Experience setting up and calibrating NDT equipment
• Ability to perform accurate dimensional inspections
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to work safely and independently in an active fabrication environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Level II certifications in all three methods: MT, UT, and RT
• Previous experience inspecting structural steel or welded fabrications
• Familiarity with applicable industry codes and customer specifications
• Experience preparing inspection reports and maintaining quality documentation

Compensation

This position pays $28.00–$38.00 per hour, depending on certifications, experience, and demonstrated technical ability.
