Job Title: Telecommunications Specialist Location: Raleigh, NC Onsite Duration: 6+ Months Rate: Up to $35.00/hr BOE Public Trust Clearance Required Description: Network Engineer to support the USPS Network Operations team. Location: Raleigh, NC Schedule: Monday-Friday, First Shift (8 am - 4 pm), possible 1 day telework Additional Requirements: MUST be flexible and willing to work on-call, overnights and weekends as needed. Position Responsibilities: • Troubleshoot and resolve network availability and outages specifically WAN related • Work Service Now trouble tickets and drive to closure. • Work with the vendors to ensure that tickets are resolved and closed in a timely manner. • Administer multiple network service requests to vendors providing network services using advanced Telecom Expense Management software. • Execute the circuit implementation & disconnect lifecycle of assigned orders related to new installs, migrations, and disconnects and coordinate new upgrades and enhancements. • Support and work with Vendors on the day-to-day activities of the WAN escalations • Proficient with MS Office Suite, especially Excel and managing emails. • Work independently with minimal guidance, demonstrating strong ownership and initiative. • Demonstrate strong organizational, communication and documentation skills. • Demonstrate strong customer service experience. • Maintain and improve runbooks, SOPs; share insights and lessons learned with the team. * An Associate employee is responsible for assisting more senior positions and/or performing functional duties under the oversight of more senior positions. Required Qualifications • o A minimum of 3-7 years relevant experience. o A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred. four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a college degree is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field then four additional years of related experience is required. • Must be eligible for a Position of Public Trust, including U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, five years of U.S. residency, and no more than six months of international travel in the past five years (excluding travel for U.S.-based work or Military Service). • 3+ years of applicable network experience and support to include SD-WAN, data circuits, network troubleshooting • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting router, switch and modem connections and setup. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Telecom Expense Management software. • Experience working with Cisco and Fortinet.
