Job description

Title: Sr. Java Developer
Location: Salem, OR - REMOTE
Duration: 12 Months
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and implement software enhancements and code changes for the eXPRS application.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects and production issues.
  • Complete operational, enhancement, maintenance, performance, refactoring, UI, and data/reporting requests.
  • Develop and maintain technical and system documentation.
  • Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Document solution options, system impacts, dependencies, gaps, and technical designs.
  • Work closely with business product owners, technical architects, technical leads, and development teams.
  • Participate in daily Scrum meetings, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Manage and track development work, defects, and change requests using Azure DevOps (ADOS).
  • Develop technical specifications for database changes, interfaces, batch programs, and application modules.
  • Demonstrate working prototypes and enhancements to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Provide regular sprint status reports and maintain transparency into work progress.
  • Transition knowledge, enhancements, and technical concepts to internal team members for ongoing support.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Java - 10+ years
  • J2EE - 10+ years
  • IBM DB2 UDB - 10+ years
  • Eclipse IDE - 10+ years
  • Experience with enterprise application development, debugging, maintenance, and enhancement.
  • Strong experience with software development methodologies, coding standards, and best practices.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps (ADOS) or similar tools for backlog, defect, and issue tracking.
  • Prior State Government experience within the last 5 years.
  • eXPRS Application Development experience - 1 to 3 years preferred/required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with application refactoring and performance tuning.
  • Experience developing and maintaining complex enterprise applications.
  • Experience with UI enhancements, reporting, interfaces, and batch processing.
  • Strong documentation and technical design skills.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders and technical architects.
