Job Title: UI/UX Analyst

Location: Lansing, Michigan (Hybrid โ€“ Local Candidates Only)
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Work Authorization: Eligible to work in the United States
Work Schedule: Hybrid (Non-Negotiable)

  • Onsite: Tuesdays & Wednesdays
  • Remote: Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays
  • Candidates must reside within 90 miles of Lansing, MI at the time of submission.
Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and user-focused UI/UX Analyst to join a dynamic project team supporting enterprise-level applications. This role is responsible for defining and delivering exceptional user experiences through research, interaction design, accessibility compliance, usability testing, and visual design best practices.

The UI/UX Analyst will collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Technical Leads, developers, stakeholders, and end users to ensure solutions are intuitive, accessible, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in user-centered design methodologies, accessibility standards, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.

This position requires a professional portfolio showcasing UI/UX design projects and demonstrated experience in creating user-centered digital experiences.


Key ResponsibilitiesUser Experience Research & Analysis
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, Business Analysts, and technical teams to understand project goals, requirements, and user needs.
  • Conduct user interviews, stakeholder workshops, observations, surveys, and research activities to gather insights.
  • Analyze existing business processes, workflows, user journeys, and pain points to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop user personas, journey maps, storyboards, process flows, and interaction models.
  • Serve as the primary advocate for end users throughout the project lifecycle.
UI Design & Prototyping
  • Design intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces that align with business requirements and established design standards.
  • Create sketches, wireframes, mockups, screen flows, and high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Develop comprehensive interface designs that effectively communicate functionality, navigation, and usability requirements.
  • Review designs with Business Analysts to ensure business alignment and with Technical Leads to ensure technical feasibility.
  • Facilitate design review sessions and gather stakeholder feedback for iterative improvements.
Accessibility & Compliance
  • Ensure all designs comply with:
    • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
    • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
    • State of Michigan Application and Site Standards
  • Perform accessibility reviews and testing throughout the design and development lifecycle.
  • Provide recommendations and remediation guidance for accessibility vulnerabilities.
  • Support development teams with accessibility best practices and compliance requirements.
Usability Testing & Validation
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct usability testing sessions with target users.
  • Analyze testing results and recommend design improvements.
  • Collaborate with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) teams to validate usability and functionality.
  • Continuously refine designs based on user feedback and testing outcomes.
Collaboration & Leadership
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions, workshops, brainstorming meetings, and project discussions.
  • Lead design-focused meetings and presentations with stakeholders and project teams.
  • Partner closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of UI/UX designs.
  • Provide guidance on UI/UX best practices, design patterns, and usability standards.
  • Serve as liaison with external teams and governance groups regarding UI/UX standards and compliance requirements.
Documentation & Standards
  • Maintain design documentation, style guides, component libraries, and UI specifications.
  • Create checklists and resources to support development teams in implementing accessible and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Ensure consistency across applications and platforms by adhering to established design systems and standards.

Required Qualifications
  • 3โ€“5 years of professional experience in User Interface (UI) Design.
  • 3โ€“5 years of experience conducting User Research and usability studies.
  • Bachelor''s degree, certification, or equivalent training in:
    • Graphic Design
    • Interaction Design
    • User Experience Design
    • User Interface Design
    • Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)
    • Related field
  • Experience creating:
    • Wireframes
    • Mockups
    • User flows
    • Prototypes
    • Design specifications
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder discussions and design workshops.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in Agile and cross-functional environments.
  • Portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design expertise and project experience.
