What are 'useless jobs'?

Useless jobs, often referred to as 'bullshit jobs,' are positions that employees themselves believe make no meaningful contribution to society, the organization, or the individual. These jobs may involve unnecessary paperwork, redundant management, or tasks that could be automated or eliminated without negative impact. The concept was popularized by anthropologist David Graeber, who argued that a significant number of people feel their work is pointless or unfulfilling. While some debate exists about which jobs are truly 'useless,' the term generally applies to roles perceived as lacking purpose or value.
