As a Used Car Sales Manager, you lead our used car sales department, driving revenue and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. You manage all aspects of used vehicle operations, from acquisition to sale, playing a critical role in our dealership's profitability and market presence. This position shapes our sales strategy, develops our team, and maintains our reputation for quality and service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily used car sales operations, setting ambitious yet achievable sales targets and monitoring team performance against key metrics.
  • Manages the used car inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels, efficient turnover, and a diverse selection of quality vehicles.
  • Leads, motivates, and develops a high-performing sales team. This includes hiring new sales professionals, providing comprehensive training, assigning work direction, and conducting regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
  • Identifies and acquires quality used vehicles through auctions, trade-ins, and other sourcing channels, ensuring alignment with inventory needs and profitability goals.
  • Coaches sales team members on effective sales techniques, product knowledge, customer service excellence, and closing strategies.
  • Handles complex negotiations with customers and suppliers, securing favorable terms and maximizing profitability.
  • Develops and implements competitive pricing strategies that attract customers while maintaining healthy profit margins.
  • Utilizes the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track leads, manage customer interactions, analyze sales data, and foster long-term customer loyalty.
  • Conducts profitability analysis on sales data, identifying trends, forecasting future performance, and implementing strategies to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Performs ongoing market analysis, staying informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and evolving customer demands to adjust strategies proactively.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive sales, with at least 2 years in a sales management or leadership role specifically within used car operations.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
