Job description

The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. The Department of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is seeking outstanding applicants to fill a PART-TIME Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position in the Division of Medical Oncology supporting our survivorship programs. Under general supervision and in accordance with standardized procedures, the nurse practitioner/physician assistant performs physical examinations and treats common episodic and chronic health care problems, counsels patients and families, monitors patient progress, and assists with clinical research projects. The nurse practitioner/physician assistant works in collaboration with other health care team members, consulting and referring as appropriate, but retains responsibility for ongoing clinical management of oncology patients . Successful candidates will have strong clinical skills and interest in serving a diverse patient population in both private and public clinical practice. We offer a highly competitive salary package with excellent benefits. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position will be hired as a clinical instructor.

The NP or PA will be working with several oncologists (Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer, etc.) at the Keck Medicine of USC Newport Beach facility.

Minimum Field of Expertise: For NP candidates, possession of current certificate of completion from a Nurse Practitioner program. Current and valid California State RN and Nurse Practitioner licenses, and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. Clinical nursing experience.

THIS IS A PRACTITIONER POSITION – You will not be teaching NP or PA students.

The annual base salary range for this position is $76.440-$215.330.80. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
