This is a USACE project, and candidates must meet all minimum USACE qualifications and project requirements to be considered.

Responsibilities:
Be on-site during all work activities, monitor daily weather, maintain safety materials, conduct site walks, and implement corrective actions. Track deficiencies, provide safety logs, and attend pre-construction and safety meetings. Deliver weekly safety toolbox meetings, update site-specific safety plans, and ensure compliance with safety and health requirements. Conduct safety inspections, maintain records, provide safety orientation and training, manage PPE inventory, and ensure effective dust suppression. Investigate mishaps, recommend actions, approve decontamination of equipment, and optimize care for injured employees.
Support project quality requirements as needed, including coordination with project management and field teams. Candidates with QA/QC experience are highly desirable and may assist with quality documentation, inspections, and compliance activities.
Requirements and Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of construction safety oversight experience within the last 10 years
- USACE project experience highly preferred
- QA/QC experience is a plus
- Must be able to obtain military clearance to work on-site (Background check will be required)
Education and Credentials:
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Wallet Card issued within the last 5 years, required
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification, required
- Must have a minimum of 25 hours of documented safety-related training completed within the last 5 years (training may be accumulated in any combination over the 5-year period)
- OSHA 30-Hour and First Aid/CPR/AED training do not count toward the 25-hour requirement
- Safety training may include site-specific safety orientations, professional development courses, safety conferences, seminars, or safety classes taught by the candidate
- EM 385-1-1 preferred but not required
Other Requirements:
- Must pass a background check, fit-for-duty physical, and drug screen
- USACE approval and clearance to work on a military base
- Flexibility for overtime and varied work hours based on project demands
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
This role requires active oversight of safety on large-scale commercial projects in diverse environments. The position involves standing, walking, climbing ladders, stooping, entering confined spaces, working on roofs, lifting up to 30 lbs., and navigating rough or uneven terrain for the duration of the shift, excluding reasonable and allowable break times. Work conditions may include extreme temperatures, high winds, heavy rain, or snow.
