Dispatcher/Operations (Under DTS)
Full-Time
Location: Coach USA โ€“ The Loop in Parkville, MD
Compensation: Annual Salary: $52,000 Based upon experience
Schedule: Must be flexible with time and days throughout the week (Operations is Monday-Saturday)

You will be responsible for coordinating vehicle and driver schedules and troubleshooting issues which arise due to driver and/or equipment changes, customer needs and other planned and unplanned events. All applicants must be dependable and willing to work a flexible schedule. Requirements:

  • Assign drivers and buses
  • Update and monitor GPS route/ equipment status
  • Monitor on-time performance
  • Check driverโ€™s credentials and logs
  • Monitor compliance hours
  • Inspect and sign DVIR
  • Provide available and OOS bus list along with fleet count, monitor PM list
  • Make sure all company vehicles and buses are fueled and cleaned
  • Report all accidents/incidents to Safety Director/ General Manager/ VP Operations-Central
  • Assist customer inquiries through phone or email
  • In case of breakdowns contact road services, dispatch relief bus, and notify Director of Maintenance and management.
  • Communicate delays or updates with Operations
  • Communicate with maintenance on breakdowns, defects, and PMs
  • Council and direct drivers
  • Monitor GPS and maps to keep drivers on schedule from traffic and accidents
  • Transfer and receive information from shift to shift
  • Other duties as needed

Required Experience:
  •  At least 1 to 2 years previous driving and/or dispatching experience or 5 years of transportation industry preferred

Qualifications:
  • Ability to multitask and trouble shoot in a high pace environment
  • Available on weekends, holidays, days, and nights
  • Exemplary communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledgeable in data entry, internet usage, email, Microsoft Office, Excel, and web-based routing / GPS programs
  • A clear understanding of e-logโ€™s
  • The ability to possess and maintain CDL-A or B License with Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsement
