Job Title: Java Full Stack Developer with Scala
Job Location: Jersey City, NJ (4 days/week for the first 3 months)
Job Type:12+ Months contract W2
 
 
Position Highlights:
  • Core requirements: 5+ years core Java, 2+ years Scala or another functional language
  • Message-oriented middleware experience (Kafka, AMQP, MQ, AMPS, etc.) is close to a must-have
  • React or Angular helps
  • Spring Boot helps
  • Some database experience helpful, not a big priority
  • CI/CD: Jenkins
  • Source control: Bitbucket
  • Environment: on-prem only, no cloud/AWS
  • Individual contributor role, no hand-holding, needs someone self-sufficient
  • Banking/financial experience helps since this isn't a startup and the person needs to navigate orgs to get things done, but don't screen out a strong candidate for lacking it

Skilled JAVA developer
  • 5+ years professional experience developing solutions with core Java
  • Message-oriented-middleware (Kafka, AMQP, MQ, AMPS, etc.) experience
  • As part of an Agile team, the candidate will work with users to refine requirements, design and develop high-quality and scalable systems, and assist users during the QA/UAT process. This is a hands-on, technical position with the expectation that a majority of the candidates time will be spent on active development tasks.

  • 5+ years professional experience developing solutions with core Java
  • 2+ years professional experience developing solutions with Scala or other functional language
  • Experience writing Unit Tests and Acceptance/Behavior Tests
  • Ability to deliver quality code on timely basis
  • Strong data structure, algorithm and problem solving skills
  • Experience and desire to work in an Agile environment (pair programming, daily stand-ups, etc.)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of problem domain at previous employments
  • Experience working on a team, sharing code base with continuous integration
  • Willing to participate in production support rota
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environment
