Job description

Job Duties
  • Must use forklifts, hand trucks, hoists, overhead cranes and other equipment to move materials within the facility.
  • Load and unload material onto and from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
  • Safely move materials and place in correct location.
  • Supply production area with needed materials from inventory.
  • Keep material handling equipment and materials in a safe, clean and working order. Inform management of any equipment defects or maintenance needs.
  • Opens packages and containers using cutters and other tools.
  • Work with the supply chain, quality and production departments to ensure needs of the company are being met.
  • Advise Lead/Supervisor if the inventory to carry out the process are not sufficient.
  • Follow the plan and schedule defined by the Lead/Supervisor.
  • Follow instructions to keep and follow 6S methodology. Use lean manufacturing principles to obtain the most efficient use of space and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production and inventory areas.
  • Provide support to Shipping/Receiving and production areas when needed.
  • Ensure tasks are performed according to organizational requirements for quality management and environmental, health and safety standards, policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures and rules.
  • Complete other duties and work in other areas as assigned by the Company, whether or not trained in that area. This includes performing housekeeping tasks.
  • Be at your workstation on time at the beginning of shift, and when the shift/break bell rings at the start and end of breaks.
