Job description

Job Description
PAY: The pay scale for this position is $34.50 - $38.24. If you are hired, your base pay rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
SHIFT: Monday through Friday - 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Potential overtime based on business needs)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Read and interpret blueprints to understand the specifications for each job.
  • Program for CNC machining center using Inventor and SolidWorks software.
  • Program for CNC plate burning machines using AutoCAD and other related software.
  • Assist sales in the creation of quotes.
  • Create effective programs that are time and cost efficient.
  • Plan appropriately to optimize the nest (cut the most possible pieces from a plate).
  • Establish tool inventory for machining center.
  • Participate in the inspection process for machined parts.
  • Establish and maintain production schedule for CNC Machining Center.
  • Actively involved in branch Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives.
  • All other duties as assigned.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Post-Secondary Education in Engineering or Engineering Technician preferred.
  • Able to read, modify and create drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Clear written and oral communication.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment with multiple competing priorities.

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
  • Exposure to AS400 or other ERP systems an asset.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience or exposure to CNC programming.
  • Experience in ProNest, PrimeCut, Inventor and SolidWorks is considered an asset.
  • Familiar with HAAS CNC Vertical Machining Centers an asset.

  • The CAD Programmer role is primarily sedentary, involving long periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation. However, occasional physical activity, such as moving equipment or materials, may be required.
