Job description


Looking to work daytime hours in a clean, modern, and supportive manufacturing environment? We are seeking a CNC Mill Setup / Operator to join our growing team on 1st Shift. This role is ideal for a skilled CNC Machinist who can demonstrate proficiency in setting up, and operating CNC Machining Centers or similar precision equipment. This position is responsible for efficient setups and production runs while maintaining high quality parts through in-process inspections.

What You Will Do:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines using Okuma and Fanuc Controls
  • Efficiently perform setups and production runs while maintaining tight tolerances
  • Create, modify, and optimize programs to improve efficiency and part quality
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications
  • Conduct in-process inspections using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)
  • Maintain setup sheets, tool lists, and documentation for repeatability and process control
  • Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and other machinists to support workflow and problem-solving
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in good working condition and assist with preventive maintenance
  • Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

✅ Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience setting up, programming, and operating CNC machining centers
  • Proven expertise with Okuma and Fanuc controls required


Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of G-Code programming and CNC lathe setup
  • Solid background in manual machining and traditional toolroom practices
  • Experience with GD&T and Part Processing methods
  • Familiarity with Mastercam tool path generation
  • Exposure to SPC, Lean Manufacturing, and process improvement principles
  • Experience working with robotic mill and lathe work cells

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing, bending, and operating machines
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precision machining tasks
  • Visual acuity for reading blueprints, inspecting parts, and operating equipment safely
