Our Decatur, AL facility is currently seeking to fill a 1st shift CNC Programmer II position.

Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen.

Classification and base pay rate will be dependent upon skillset and prior experience.
Duties of the CNC Programmer will be performed in-house and on location at customer site.

REQUIREMENTS –

  • Current, valid driver license.   
  • Ability to read and interpret measuring instruments.
  • Preferred candidates will possess previous industrial/mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Crane/Forklift Certification.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for interpreting blueprints, designing or modifying existing CNC programs, setting up the machine and tooling, and operating the CNC machine to produce or modify a metal component.
  • Work is diversified and machining is performed to ordinary tolerances
  • Inspects workpieces for defects, and measures workpieces to determine the accuracy of machine operation using rules, templates, or other measuring instruments.
  • Reads blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and to plan operational sequences.
  • Selects, installs, and adjusts alignment of drills, cutters, dies, guides and holding devices using templates, measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Moves controls or mounts gears, cams or templates in machines to set feed rates, cutting speeds, depths and angles.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of various metals and of measurements used in machining process.
  • Monitors work to ensure that machine is not malfunctioning.
  • Perform daily maintenance check of machine.
  • Performs housekeeping of machine and work area.
  • Other work may be assigned at Management’s discretion.

TOOLS USED: Computer Numerical Control machines, Inside and Outside Micrometers, Depth Micrometer, Calipers, Bore Gages, other General Hand Tools

  

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Work is performed at ground level and above.

Frequent: Walking, standing, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying of twenty (20) lbs or less.

Occasional: Climbing, kneeling, crouching, lifting and carrying of fifty (50) – thirty (30) lbs.
