Job description

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor seeks qualified Christian employees for this position.
Responsibilities: Lead and develop the university's cheerleading program in a positive Christian manner, promoting school and team spirit and unity, athletic excellence, and serves as a positive representation of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Responsible for assisting with cheer recruitment, member selection, scheduling and execution of cheer practices, cheering at athletic events, and other special events as requested or needed. Develop choreography, cheers, stunts, and to teach cheer routines. Prepares the cheer squad for performances at sporting events and competitions.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Work schedule will vary, not to exceed 26 hours (without supervisory approval) per designated workweek, which is Saturday through Friday. This is a part-time, 10-month position.

Minimum Requirements:
  1. Must be an active and committed Christian who will support the University's mission and who will be an active participant in their local church.
  2. High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree in physical education, sport management, exercise sports science, or related field preferred.
  3. Experience as a cheerleading coach, instructor, or similar role preferred.
  4. Strong background in cheerleading techniques, including stunts, tumbling, and dance is preferred.
  5. Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills is required.
  6. Enthusiasm for working with college students and fostering positive school spirit is required.
  7. Presently have, or be able to obtain within the first month hire, USA Cheer Membership.
  8. Presently have, or be able to obtain, within the first month of hire, certification in CPR First Aid.
  9. Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  10. Must possess a current and valid Texas driver's license and be insurable under UMHB auto coverage.
  11. Must agree to the University's Employee Statement of Understanding.
