Job description

Now Hiring: Welders

Kansas City, KS

A well-established metal fabrication company — a one-stop source for stamping, fabrication, value-added assembly, tooling, and machining — is hiring Welders to join their production team.

Why You'll Want This Job

  • Four-Day Workweek— 10-hour shifts, Monday–Thursday. Enjoy a guaranteed three-day weekend, every week.
  • Day-One Benefits— Holiday pay and 401(k) eligibility start on your first day.
  • Fast Medical Coverage— Medical, dental, and vision benefits kick in after just 60 days.
  • Pay Based on Experience— Competitive starting wage, commensurate with your background. Starting at $19/hr.

What You'll Do

As a Welder, you'll set up and operate welding equipment to join and fabricate metal components to spec, reading blueprints and weld symbols to guide precise, high-quality work. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform MIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum; robotic and spot welding also included
  • Tack-weld and weld components/assemblies using electric, gas, or arc welding equipment
  • Heat, form, and dress metal parts using hand tools, torches, or arc welding equipment
  • Set amperage, voltage, and other parameters to strike and maintain a clean arc
  • Manually guide the electrode/gun along the weld line, judging bead quality by color, sound, and puddle size
  • Position, clamp, and fixture workpieces for assembly
  • Measure finished parts to verify accuracy
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout and welding sequence
  • Operate additional machine shop equipment to prep components as needed
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures at all times

What You Bring

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 6 months–1 year of welding experience, vocational training, or metal fabrication shop experience
  • Working knowledge of MIG welding across carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum (automated welding a plus)
  • Ability to read and understand weld symbols and blueprints
  • Ability to speak and read English
  • Own hand tools
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for 10–12 hour shifts

If you take pride in clean, precise welds and want a schedule that gives you your weekends back, we'd love to talk.
