A Registered Nurse is required for the Eating Disorders Program. The Registered Nurse will work on the Eating Disorders Inpatient unit and liaise with and support all levels of eating disorders programming as required. The successful candidate will be integral in assisting with individual, family and group clinical programming, which includes meal support and family-based interventions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide nursing assessments and interventions for patients within the Eating Disorders Program
  • Provide psychoeducation to the patient, family and other health care providers regarding Eating Disorders
  • Participate in individual, family and group clinical programming
  • Offer clinical interventions and support, including intensive meal support, to patients and their families
  • Support teaching and research activities
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and discharge planning
  • Carry other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current Certification of competence, College of Nurses of Ontario(Essential)
  • Current CPR Certification (Essential)
  • B.Sc. Nursing (Preferred)
  • Paediatric nursing experience (Preferred)
  • Experience in paediatric mental health (Preferred)
  • Excellent team work and interpersonal skills (Essential)
  • Knowledge and experience in the area of Eating Disorders (Essential)
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills(Essential)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
  • Bilingual (English/ French) (Preferred)

Effective March 29, 2021, CHEO will conduct a more comprehensive pre-screening and evaluation process. This process may include more varied and multidimensional testing such as a written test, practical exam, or other assessment. All candidates who meet the essential and preferred qualifications may be tested.

Bilingualism (French/English) will be validated by a language proficiency assessment conducted by a third party provider. Candidates will be required to meet the minimum linguistic profile prior to the date of hire.
