Job description

Position Summary

The incumbent in this position will have responsibilities in the areas of teaching, scholarship and service. Courses to be taught will be primarily in the areas of network programming, cybersecurity, database theory, web programming, software engineering, data structures, algorithm development, data-science but may include classes taught outside of those topics, depending on expertise

Duties and Responsibilities

Faculty contractual duties include, but are not limited to:
• Teach courses in graduate and undergraduate CS programs.
• May be assigned to teach evening and/or Saturday classes, courses via ITV, and/or develop and teach Desire to Learn courses;
• Hold office hours as required;
• Maintain regular attendance;

$1050 per credit hour

Education: Masters or Doctorate in Computer Science or a closely related field or equivalent credentials. Doctoral candidates that have completed all but their dissertation are also qualified.
Experience: University experience in teaching computer science courses as an instructor or assistant.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to the following:
Expertise in several of the following areas: network programming,cybersecurity, database theory, web programming, software engineering, data structures, algorithm development and data-science.
University experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses
Demonstrated research activities in the broad field of computer and information science
Previous success in working with diverse student populations
Interest and/or experience implementing curricula and/or pedagogy in discipline
Experience interacting with multicultural communities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Skill and expertise in delivering computer science content and coursework to diverse students.
• Ability in the use of classroom technologies and/or strategies to enhance pedagogy.
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues, administrators and a culturally diverse student body.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to supervise undergraduate and graduate student projects.
• Demonstrated skill and ability in writing software programs.
