Job Description
The Staff Writer/Content Producer will develop, research, and write print and digital articles for Boston College Magazine. The Staff Writer/Content Producer will also contribute videos, podcasts, and other multimedia content while overseeing the magazine's social media channels.
The Staff Writer/Content Producer contributes vibrant and richly reported storytelling across all of BC Magazine's channels, including writing for print and the web, contributing videos and podcasts, and overseeing our social media efforts.
The Staff Writer/Content Producer is an organized and efficient journalist capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously, a tenacious and naturally curious generator of story ideas, a rigorous and accurate reporter, and a can-do colleague who embraces new challenges as they arise.
Responsible for producing insightful, entertaining, and accurate print and digital storytelling to high journalistic standards.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $61,050 to $76,300; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
The qualified candidate will have a bachelor's degree and at least one year of magazine writing and editing experience, as well as demonstrated experience with digital content production and the oversight of social media channels. Experience in higher education is welcome, though not required.
Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field
Demonstrated experience with writing and content production, preferably including writing for magazines, managing social media channels, and creating and editing multimedia content.
Familiarity with content management systems
Outstanding communication skills
Collaborative approach
At least one year of professional magazine writing and editing experience.
Demonstrated experience with digital content production and the oversight of social media channels.
