Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Security Specialist II - Risk Assessment Specialist will manage the Position Description (PD) database containing all FCC positions.
  • Security Specialist II identify PDs and/or Employee/Contractor positions without Risk Designation assessments and complete those assessments.
  • Security Specialist II - Risk Assessment Specialist compiles and maintains accounting and accurate data of FCC contractor population, contracting vendors, and FCC CORs to maintain accurate information in the personnel management case system.
  • Assist SOC in identification, completion, and distribution of appropriate investigative forms.
  • Review returned security forms for accuracy with necessary follow-up for corrections/clarifications/additions and/or contacting individuals who have not returned their security forms in a timely manner.
  • Work with appropriate bureau staff to issue, update, and maintain FCC-issued credentials for field and HQ staff who requires them.
  • Security Specialist II - Risk Assessment Specialist will fingerprint individuals as necessary.
  • Handle telephone inquiries from subjects of investigation and/or investigative agencies and dealing with other telephone inquiries as necessary.
  • Conduct preliminary review of security investigation materials, as directed.
  • Handle customer walk-ins and telephone inquiries regarding security issues.
  • Handle and process classified and sensitive unclassified documents, to include inventory, accountability, dissemination, and destruction.
  • Security Specialist II - Risk Assessment Specialist will organize and maintain office keys and distribute keys under established procedures.
  • Security Specialist II serve as backups to the Security Specialist I's with badging enrollments and activations in their absence.
  • Security Specialist II - Risk Assessment Specialist will perform additional security duties as required to meet the SOC's operational needs, including, but not limited to attending meetings; providing information to internal and external requests; conducting security-related research; conducting personnel interviews; initiate and review completed eApp forms; and information gathering and exchange via telephone, internet, and mail.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Demonstrated and working knowledge of current Risk Designation and Position Sensitivity Classification.
  • Must be proficient in the MS suite of office automation software (Word and Excel).
  • Possess interpersonal communications skills.
  • Possess excellent customer service capabilities.
  • Ability to perform general administrative management tasks as needed.

Minimum/General Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the area of personnel security

Minimum Education:

  • Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent
