Job Summary

This position is responsible for the delivery of products sold to stores.  In some instances, the drivers may be required to make pick-ups as needed.  Current CDL A license and clean MVR are required. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate tractor-trailer/vehicle according to state and federal laws and observing all safety regulations established by the company and the Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Transport bagged concrete products, block, mortar, and any/all other materials to customer location and/or job site in a safe manner.
  • Assist and supervise the loading of the truck to ensure proper product order accuracy and legal weight distribution.
  • Properly secure loads as per standard industry practices as well as DOT, CSA, and FMCSA regulations and guidelines.
  • Inspect truck and trailer(s) and perform daily pre and post trip inspections as required by DOT, CSA, and FMCSA regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records such as driver's daily log (Motive ELD system), fuel tickets, delivery documentation, and any other required documents according to company requirements as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Receive ship ticket and BOL from Customer Service
  • Monitor and immediately report problems with assigned equipment operations, product quality, customer satisfaction, and traffic
  • Maintain effective relationships with dealers and contractor
  • Operate Forklift as necessary to unload products and/or material at job site
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Current CDL Class A and clean MVR are required
  • At least 5 years of verifiable flatbed experience
  • Prior forklift experience is required
  • Current DOT Physical is required
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple operating instructions and safety procedures
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Lifting, up to 50 pounds with assistance

  • Able to operate a vehicle for long periods of time

  • Must wear company provided personal protective equipment - earplugs, hard hat, safety boots/shoes, and protective glasses on sites. Candidates must provide their own safety boots/shoes upon hire and will be eligible to participate in Safety Boots/Shoe Reimbursement Program after 30 days of employment
