Job description

Location: Los Angeles, CA (preferred)
Reporting To: GM and President, Beast Studios

Build the production organization behind a growing portfolio of original content.Overview

We're building a growing direct-to-consumer content business with an expanding slate of original programming. As our content portfolio grows across live programming, long-form unscripted series, creator-led content, and live experiences, we're looking for an experienced production leader to build the organization responsible for bringing that slate to life.

The Head of Production is responsible for building and scaling the production function that supports this growing portfolio. Working closely with the President, Studio and Head of Production, Studio, you'll oversee production across multiple concurrent projects while establishing the people, systems, and operational infrastructure needed to support an ambitious and evolving content strategy.

This role is focused on production leadership, not creative development. Programming will continue to own creative direction, editorial decisions, formats, and content strategy, while the Head of Production owns operational execution across the slate. Success requires building a production organization that can deliver consistently at scale while partnering closely with creative, product, engineering, marketing, finance, legal, and business operations teams.

What You'll Do
  • Define and lead the production strategy across a growing portfolio of original programming.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent productions from early planning through production, post-production, and final delivery.
  • Build and lead a high-performing production organization, including production executives, line producers, production managers, post-production leaders, coordinators, and external partners.
  • Own production budgets, forecasts, schedules, staffing plans, and operational capacity across the slate.
  • Manage all aspects of production operations, including crews, vendors, locations, stages, permits, contracts, insurance, payroll, travel, transportation, equipment, and logistics.
  • Partner closely with Programming leadership to evaluate production feasibility while supporting creative ambition with operational discipline.
  • Establish scalable production standards, workflows, reporting, approval processes, and delivery frameworks.
  • Build relationships with studios, production companies, creators, vendors, and external production partners.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to ensure content is delivered effectively across digital platforms and supported by complementary content initiatives.
  • Serve as the executive escalation point for production risks, scheduling conflicts, budget pressures, vendor issues, and delivery challenges.
  • Continuously improve production operations through stronger systems, organizational design, technology, and vendor strategy.
Who You Are
  • You have 12-15+ years of production experience, with significant leadership responsibility across long-form unscripted television, streaming, digital media, live programming, or a related entertainment environment.
  • You've led multiple complex productions simultaneously and know how to balance quality, schedule, budget, and execution across competing priorities.
  • You have deep expertise in production operations, including budgeting, scheduling, staffing, vendor management, locations, stages, contracts, payroll, permits, and logistics.
  • You've built and led high-performing production teams and know how to create the systems and processes that enable organizations to scale.
  • You partner effectively with creative leaders, providing operational guidance while supporting ambitious programming and evolving production needs.
  • You thrive in fast-moving environments where priorities change quickly and can bring structure, sound judgment, and calm execution through ambiguity.
  • Experience with creator-led content, live programming, streaming, digital-first media, or other direct-to-consumer entertainment businesses is a plus.

Frequent travel should be expected based on production schedules and business needs.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary range for this role is $170,000-$230,000, in addition to eligibility for an annual bonus, an equity grant under the company's employee equity plan, and a comprehensive benefits package.
