Job Title: Forklift Operator / Equipment Handler
Job Description

The Equipment Handler supports daily warehouse operations by safely and efficiently operating material handling equipment, with a primary focus on forklifts. This role ensures accurate loading and unloading at dock doors, maintains organized inventory and equipment records, and contributes to a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate stand-up, sit-down, reach truck, slip sheet, and other forklifts safely and efficiently to move products throughout the warehouse.
  • Perform daily maintenance checks and minor repairs on warehouse equipment, including forklifts, to ensure proper operation.
  • Schedule and conduct routine forklift inspections and document all findings in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, servicing, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist with receiving, identifying, staging, and dispatching goods to ensure efficient cargo flow.
  • Load and unload containers and trailers at dock doors, including ocean containers, following proper safety and handling procedures.
  • Lift, carry, and move boxes and materials weighing up to 50 pounds as part of loading and unloading activities.
  • Ensure all trailers positioned at dock doors are properly locked and secured before loading or unloading.
  • Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to support accurate inventory tracking and shipment handling.
  • Ensure accuracy in shipment handling, inventory transactions, and documentation related to import and export activities.
  • Organize and maintain inventory related to warehouse equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Keep dock and warehouse areas clean, safe, and well-organized to support efficient operations.
  • Follow all company standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support shipping and receiving processes by staging cargo, verifying labels, and checking documentation.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration across warehouse operations by communicating clearly and assisting colleagues as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Proven warehouse experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in cargo staging, including organizing and preparing loads for shipment.
  • Basic knowledge of import and export processes, including labeling and documentation requirements.

Pay and Benefits
