What does an unload associate do?

An Unload Associate is responsible for unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, sorting and organizing products, and preparing items for stocking on retail shelves or storage areas. They often use equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts to move heavy items and ensure that products are handled safely and efficiently. Unload Associates also check shipments for accuracy and report any damaged or missing items to management. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an unload associate?

To excel as an Unload Associate, you need physical stamina, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of inventory procedures, typically requiring a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with warehouse management systems, handheld scanners, and pallet jacks is commonly expected. Strong teamwork, time management, and reliability help you efficiently handle fast-paced unloading tasks. These skills and qualities are crucial for maintaining safety, accuracy, and workflow in busy warehouse or retail environments.
