Role Overview
We are seeking a Support Engineer to join our team. The successful engineer in this role will understand how our software, servers, operating systems, and networks function, perform, and scale. This position requires strong troubleshooting, project management, and problem-analysis skills to drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations through automation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Possess troubleshooting, project management, and problem analysis skills.
  • Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via automation.
  • Design server monitoring and management solutions using automation and self-repair.
  • Create processes that enhance operational workflow and provide positive customer impact.
  • Dive deep to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns amenable to long-term solutions via simplification and automation.
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in documentation, testing, security, and operational support at scale.
  • Develop appropriate metrics to demonstrate performance at improving operational efficiency.
  • Handle high-urgency incidents and escalations within a ticketing system.
  • Communicate orally and in writing with operators and senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
  • Experience with technical support or professional services.
  • Adept at working on multiple projects.
  • Experience troubleshooting, deploying, and managing servers in large-scale, geographically diverse environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience deploying and operating Linux or other UNIX variants in a datacenter environment.
  • Proficiency and experience in automation via Python programming and shell scripting.
  • Experience in building SQL queries.

Technical Skills:
  • Understanding of AWS technologies.
  • Strong system troubleshooting skills.
  • Good understanding of standard internet protocols (Ethernet, ARP, IP, ICMP, UDP, TCP, SSL, DNS, HTTP, etc.).
  • Demonstrable grasp of security best practices in server configuration, tool development, and access controls.

Work Schedule:
  • Must be able to work 9-5 pm EST or 5-1 am EST in a hybrid role, with a schedule of either Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday.
