Job description

The Test Engineer supports the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations Center (AMOC) by ensuring that all Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems are fully tested, validated, and mission-ready prior to deployment into the operational baseline.

This role is critical to minimizing operational risk by validating software, hardware, network, and sensor integrations within government and contractor-supported test and development facilities, prior to operational release.


  • Test & Development Facility Support
    • Support Test and Development activities as defined in the SOW.
    • Perform integration, system, regression, and acceptance testing of AMOSS, ISR Systems, telecommunications, and ancillary C4I systems.
    • Ensure new projects, system upgrades, patches, and enhancements are fully tested before connection to operational systems.
    Software & Hardware Testing
    • Test and evaluate:
      • AMOSS and WebAMOSS software
      • ISR Systems applications and databases
      • C4I supporting services, operating systems, and network configurations
    • Validate compliance with:
      • DHS and CBP security requirements
      • Configuration Management baselines
      • Approved Change Requests (CRs)
    Engineering & Integration Support
    • Support Engineering & Integration (E&I) teams during:
      • System upgrades
      • New sensor or data feed integrations
      • Expansion or reconfiguration efforts
    • Assist in debugging new, modified, or existing systems in lab environments.
    Test Documentation & Reporting
    • Develop and support required test documentation including:
      • Systems Acceptance Test Plans (SATP)
      • Installation Plans (IP)
      • Software Version Description Documents (SVDD)
    • Document test results, defects, and remediation actions.
    • Support audits, inspections, and readiness reviews.

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Secret Clearance Required
  • Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of related work experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in:
    • System testing, integration testing, or lab engineering
    • Testing complex IT, C4I, or mission-critical systems
  • Experience testing with Linux-based systems, Networked systems and client/server architectures, Hardware and software integrations
  • Familiarity with:Test plans, procedures, and defect tracking, Configuration management processes
  • Working knowledge of: Linux/UNIX environments, Networking concepts and protocols, Databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar)

  • Experience with: Virtualized environments, Test automation tools or scripting (preferred), Issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira), Technical Skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal, DHS, CBP, DoD, or law enforcement systems
  • Familiarity with: AMOSS, ISR systems, or radar/sensor-based systems, Agile development and testing methodologies
