Job Title: Infrastructure support
Location: Tempe, AZ (Hybrid, 4 Days onsite and 1 Day Remote)

Job Description:
  • This candidate will join a Technology Operations team responsible for first-level infrastructure support and incident resolution.
  • The role supports enterprise server operating systems, hardware platforms, storage technologies, and related infrastructure components.
  • Priority should be given to candidates with a strong infrastructure operations background and demonstrated break/fix troubleshooting experience.
  • This is not a desktop support or a help desk support role.

In this contingent resource assignment, candidate may:
  • Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements within Systems Operations Engineering.
  • Review and analyze basic or tactical Systems Operations Engineering assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, related to low-to-medium risk deliverables.
  • Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations and exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide information to client personnel in Systems Operations Engineering.
Required Qualifications:
  • 2 plus years of Systems Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
Reminder:
  • This is NOT a desktop support role.
  • Candidates should have experience in a fast paced, incident management ticket management environment.
  • Experience with incident triage using a Service Now incident queue to support service operator systems, storage and distribute infrastructure from a hardware standpoint.
  • Location: Tempe, AZ location to accommodate extended hours.
  • Work Schedule: 4 day work week: Wednesday to Saturday - 2 (8 hour shifts) and 2 (12 hour shifts). Or 4 (10 hour shifts Wednesday to Saturday); Hybrid schedule: 3 days/week onsite.
Sample resume details:
  • Daily provisioning of Windows/Linux OS installations on servers requested by internal app teams (ESXi/Physical).
  • Extensive creation of documentation (Confluence) for daily routine "workflows" to train and establish context with other teams, as well as highlight "pain points" that should be targeted as needing to be automate other team(s).
Accomplishments:
  • Undertook a heavy documentation effort to get all "day-to-day" provisioning requests documented in internal knowledge base, drastically helping on new staff member training and troubleshooting with other teams involved.
  • Was able to automate a previous provisioning process for backups required in some environments via PowerShell.
  • Now able to install and reconfigure NICs, NetBackup clients and misc. OS changes (e.g. Disk/Group changes)
Pay Range: $40 - $42
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
