Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: This role provides stationary engineering support and monitoring the boiler/chiller central plant operations. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs for infrastructure (environmental control) equipment that supports the physical plant. Assess the condition and function of the plant to include air handling equipment, circulating pumps, and environmental controls equipment. Includes management of chemical and water treatment programs. Performs annual assessments and equipment refurbishment. Manages energy management automated building control system, adjusting major environmental systems as required including response to patient room heating and cooling requests.

Qualifications
Education & Training: High School or vocational school graduate is required. Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Maryland Grade 3 Boiler Operator License is required.
Work Orientation & Experience: Previous year experience in a high pressure steam boiler plant operations is preferred. Previous hospital power plant experience with automated energy management (Building Automation System) program preferred. Previous rotating shift operation experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to work in an environment where minimal supervision is provided. Can assess plant operation, effect appropriate repairs and recognize when additional resources are required to properly complete repair in a timely manner. Able to routinely tour facility and detect possible environmental system risks. Mechanical/electrical service competency. Ability to follow instructions and direction. Communicate effectively, prioritize tasks and respond accordingly.
