Position summary
The student writer supports the Office of University Communication by producing written content and assisting with communication-related projects. This role provides hands-on experience in public relations, journalism, storytelling, digital content and organizational communication.

- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with attention to detail.

Duties and responsibilities
- Write clear, engaging and accurate news and feature stories for multiple platforms, including the Andrews Agenda (e-newsletter and website), local and church media outlets (such as the Lake Union Herald) and FOCUS magazine (the alumni magazine).
- Assist with ongoing communication projects, such as data entry, content writing/uploads to the Andrews Agenda and organizing departmental records.
- Monitor and respond to social media comments and questions in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate and communicate proactively with the writing and editorial team to meet deadlines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, etc.) preferred.
- Proficiency with the Google Workspace (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.)
- Prior writing or journalism experience (classwork, blogs, or published work) a plus.
