Job Title: Universal Banker II
Department: Wilshire Office

We are looking for a Universal Banker II to join our Wilshire Office branch team at Open Bank! The Universal Banker II will be responsible for meeting with customers and non-customers to open all types of savings, checking and certificate of deposit accounts, based on discovery of customer needs, and to cross-sell appropriate Bank products and services of all types. Excellence in product knowledge and sales and service skills is essential. Must proactively discover needs and cross-sell the products and services that will appropriately meet those financial needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Opens, closes, and renews all types of savings, certificate of deposit and checking products quickly and accurately.
  • Provides exceptional service in handling clients in person or on the telephone.
  • Maintains a cash drawer, balances, and audits the cash drawer according to policy and schedule.
  • Processes Reject, Overdraft (OD), Non-Post, Stop and HOLD items.
  • Review & perform callback on various reports and items.
  • Communicates with customers and mail out notices for NSF, OD, and Return Items.
  • Research deposit account such as Account Statement Printing & Image Printing.
  • Scan New Account Documents for review and callback.
  • Processes Outgoing wire and keyboard item input and complete next day review.
  • Assist with Safe Deposit Box access to clients as well as assist in opening new deposit boxes.
  • Process Mail and Courier deposit, Messenger Service Deposit, Mobile & Remote Deposit, review, and submit.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of experience as an operation specialist in a bank operation required.
  • Retail sales and service experience, including cash handling, a plus.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or client complaints.
  • Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; basic computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet software applications, core banking process systems, e-mail, and on-line banking programs.
  • Be able to handle large amounts of cash.
