Who Are We?

With an “A” health rating and solid year-over-year growth, San Francisco Federal Credit Union’s (SFFedCU) membership is now over 43,000 with assets surpassing $1.3 billion and branches located in San Francisco and San Mateo County. Continuing along its highly successful growth trajectory, SFFedCU is seeking a Universal Banker for our Walnut Creek Branch in Walnut Creek.

The Position

The Universal Banker serves as a key member of the credit union’s front-line team and is responsible for delivering exceptional service to members while performing a wide range of banking transactions and advisory services. This position combines traditional teller functions with member service responsibilities, including opening new accounts, processing transactions, assisting with loan applications/fundings, and educating members on products and digital banking solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet members warmly and provide excellent service in-person, via phone, and through digital channels.
  • Process routine teller transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments.
  • Open and maintain member accounts including checking, savings, certificates, and IRAs.
  • Assist members with online banking, mobile apps, and ATM-related inquiries.
  • Identify member needs and recommend appropriate credit union products and services.
  • Originate and fund consumer loan applications.
  • Resolve member issues or escalate concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Balance cash drawer daily and maintain required cash limits and documentation.
  • Participate in branch and team meetings, training sessions, and community engagement activities.

Who Are You?

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
  • 1–2 years of customer service or banking experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn and explain financial products clearly and confidently.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and comfort using banking technology.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong sense of accountability and integrity.
  • Flexibility to work branch hours including occasional Saturdays.
